Lypsso’s Top 5 Beauty Regrets

Beauty regrets and mistakes, we have all had them at some point in our life and it’s usually when we are young and carefree that we make the most skincare and makeup mistakes.

Remember the bright blue eye shadow anyone? Now you know what we mean with regrets. But lets look at the more serious mistakes such as slathering on the oil and lying out in the sun for hours on end, it’s always a good idea at the time isn’t it?

Fast forward 15 years and you might be regretting so much sun worshipping when you were younger. Sitting in the sun is one of the most common causes of premature ageing.
But we aren’t here to make you feel guilty, we are here to tell you that you aren’t alone and that actually many of us regret the same sorts of things!

We have spoken to 5 Lypsso users about their top beauty regrets and why….

Lypsso user 1: JACKIE

Age: 50

Skin type: Combination

Have you noticed a change in your skin type, as you have got older?

Yes less greasy on forehead and of course wrinkles have started to appear.

If you could go back in time and change anything that you thought could improve your skin in the long term, what would it be?

I used to sit out in the sun a lot when I was younger (usually with no protection at all!) and I definitely think my skin has aged quicker than it would have done if I had wore sunscreen or not sat out in it so much.

I also used to sleep in my make up when I was younger. After a night out partying I just couldn’t be bothered to take it off! Years down the line I have realised that this is so bad for your skin so I don’t do it anymore! A little too late though!

Have you noticed a change in your skin type, as you have got older?

Yes, I have noticed big changes!

If you could go back in time and change anything that you thought could improve your skin in the long term, what would it be?

I would have drunk more water over the years! I have a friend who is the same age and has drunk water religiously for as long as I can remember. Her skin is amazing, line free and glowing. She says it’s definitely down to drinking water.

Lypsso user 3: Anna

Age: 62

Skin Type: Dry

Have you noticed a change in your skin type, as you have got older?

I haven’t noticed a big change but it has mainly got drier and has become more prone to sensitivity.

If you could go back in time and change anything that you thought could improve your skin in the long term, what would it be?

I wouldn’t have started smoking. That is by far my biggest beauty regret and it has impacted on my skin massively.

Age: 32

Skin Type: Dry

Have you noticed a change in your skin type, as you have got older?

Yes I have noticed a considerable change in the past 5 years.

If you could go back in time and change anything that you thought could improve your skin in the long term, what would it be?

It might surprise you to know that I never used to use moisturiser on my skin at all. Pretty bad, huh! I suffered with really oily skin throughout my teens and into my early twenties so I always thought using moisturiser would just make the problem worse.

Now that I am older and wiser I have discovered products and treatments that work for my skin. But by not using products that were right for me when I was younger, it has impacted on my skin and now I suffer with dry and duller skin as opposed to oily. I can’t win!

Have you noticed a change in your skin type, as you have got older?

Yes.

If you could go back in time and change anything that you thought could improve your skin in the long term, what would it be?

My career has meant that I have travelled a lot throughout my 20s, which has left me sleep deprived. I was never very good at eating properly either and lived on whatever was around when I was on the go travelling.

This has had a huge impact on my skin, as it has become reactive and sensitive as well as oily when I am stressed.

If I could turn back time I would have made sure I had a better skincare regime to look after my skin when I was out and about travelling.
